Hi, I’m Carmen, the founder of The Bookwork Co.
Hi! I’m your friendly bookkeeper, here to take the stress and pressure out of bookkeeping and help you stay on top of your finances.
With over 10 years of bookkeeping experience, I bring a strong background in the trade industry, and a growing passion for supporting agricultural and allied health professionals. I’m also a registered BAS agent and service provider, and a member of the Tax Practitioners Board — so you can feel comfortable knowing your books are in capable, compliant hands.
I started The Bookwork Co because I saw how overwhelming bookkeeping can be for small business owners. My goal has always been simple: a collaborative, personalised, efficient service that actually supports you — rather than adding more to your plate.

Do I need a bookkeeper if I already have an accountant?
Yes, they do different jobs. Your accountant typically handles year-end tax and strategic advice. We handle the day-to-day: keeping your books accurate, reconciled, payroll running, and BAS lodged. When EOFY rolls around, your accountant gets clean books from us and you get a much smaller bill.
What industries do you work with?
We work with businesses across all industries — from tradies and creatives to service providers and online businesses. At the end of the day, bookkeeping principles are the same, but we tailor our approach to suit how your business operates. So whether you’re just starting out or more established, we’ll meet you where you’re at.
Do I need to be local to work with you?
Not at all! Because we offer cloud-based bookkeeping, we can work with you no matter where you’re located. Everything is done online using secure software, so it’s simple, efficient, and flexible — no in-person meetings required (unless you really want one!).
What software do you work with?
We primarily work with cloud-based software like Xero, Myob, Reckon (and similar platforms), but we are happy to work with your existing setup. No messy changeover required! If you’re not currently using software, we can help you get set up with something that suits your business and makes your life easier.
What is cloud-based bookkeeping?
It simply means your financial records are stored securely online rather than in spreadsheets or desktop software. You’ll be able to access your data anytime, anywhere, and we can both work on your books in real time. It’s more efficient, more accurate, and makes collaboration much easier.
